It starts lowering blood glucose approximately 10–20 minutes after injection and works for around 3–5 hours.

Insulin aspart starts lowering blood glucose approximately 10–20 minutes after injection. Its maximum effect occurs between 1 and 3 hours after injection, and its effect lasts for approximately 3–5 hours.
Because of its short duration of action, insulin aspart is normally used in combination with intermediate-acting or long-acting insulin preparations. Effective diabetes treatment with insulin helps control blood glucose and reduce the risk of diabetes-related complications.

| How To Use | Use insulin aspart and adjust the dose exactly as directed by your doctor. It is generally injected under the skin immediately before a meal. Eat a meal or snack within 10 minutes after the injection to reduce the risk of hypoglycemia. When necessary, it may be administered soon after a meal. Do not inject directly into a vein or muscle. Recommended injection areas include the abdomen, upper arm, and front of the thighs. Change the injection site within the chosen area with each injection to help reduce the risk of lumps or skin pitting. Regularly monitor your blood glucose levels. |
| Warning | Do not use insulin aspart if you are allergic to insulin aspart or any ingredient of the medicine, if you suspect hypoglycemia is starting, if the FlexPen has been dropped, damaged, or crushed, if it has been stored incorrectly or frozen, or if the insulin is not clear and colorless. Consult your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, disorders affecting the adrenal, pituitary, or thyroid glands, if you exercise more than usual, change your usual diet, become ill, plan to travel across time zones, or notice skin changes at injection sites. Hypoglycemia is a serious possible side effect. Other reported effects include skin changes at injection sites, allergic reactions, vision problems, swollen joints, diabetic retinopathy, and painful neuropathy. Some medicines can increase or decrease blood glucose levels. Tell your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist about all medicines you are taking. Before opening, store unused pens in a refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C away from the cooling element. Do not freeze. During use or when carried as a spare, keep below 30°C or refrigerated at 2°C to 8°C for up to 4 weeks. Keep out of the sight and reach of children and do not use after the expiry date. |
