| How To Use | Take Keppra exactly as directed by your doctor. The dose is individualized according to age and indication and is usually taken twice daily. Tablets may be taken with or without food and should be swallowed with a full glass of water. Do not chew or crush the tablets. Do not stop taking levetiracetam without consulting your doctor. The dose should be reduced gradually when treatment is discontinued. |
| Warning | Do not take Levetiracetam if you are allergic to levetiracetam or any ingredient of the medicine. Seek medical advice if you develop signs of an allergic reaction such as shortness of breath, skin rash, swelling of the face or neck, low blood pressure, or dizziness. Do not stop treatment suddenly, as abrupt discontinuation may worsen seizures. Contact your doctor if you develop unusual mood or behavioral changes, worsening depression, suicidal thoughts, excessive drowsiness, fatigue, or weakness. Seek medical advice if you develop signs of liver problems such as dark urine, loss of appetite, stomach pain, vomiting, pale stools, or yellowing of the skin or eyes. Levetiracetam may cause blood abnormalities. Contact your doctor if you develop signs of infection, fever, or unusual paleness. Possible side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, tiredness, weakness, movement problems, infections, and mood or behavioral changes. Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you are taking. Store at 15–30°C in the original package, protected from moisture. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Do not use damaged tablets or use after the expiry date. |
