Capocard 50 mg Tablets contain captopril, an ACE inhibitor used for the treatment of high blood pressure and chronic heart failure. It may also be prescribed after myocardial infarction and for selected patients with type 1 diabetic nephropathy. Each tablet contains 50 mg of captopril.
Capocard 50 mg Tablets contain captopril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor used for the treatment of several cardiovascular conditions. Each tablet contains 50 mg of captopril and is intended for oral administration.
Captopril reduces the formation of angiotensin II, a substance that causes blood vessels to constrict. This action helps relax and widen blood vessels, resulting in lower blood pressure and a reduced workload on the heart.
Capocard is indicated for essential hypertension and chronic heart failure. It may also be used in clinically stable patients following myocardial infarction and in selected patients with type 1 diabetic nephropathy associated with significant proteinuria.
Treatment must be individualized according to the patient's condition, blood pressure response, kidney function, and concomitant medications. For hypertension, treatment may start with a total daily dose of 25–50 mg divided into two doses and can be gradually adjusted when necessary, up to a maximum recommended daily dose of 150 mg.
Capocard is a prescription medicine and should only be used according to medical instructions. Monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function, and potassium levels may be required during treatment.

| How To Use | Take Capocard exactly as prescribed by the physician. Swallow the tablet with water and take it at approximately the same times each day. Capocard may be taken before, during, or after meals. Do not increase, reduce, or stop the dose without medical advice. If a dose is missed, do not take a double dose unless specifically instructed by a healthcare professional. |
| Warning | Prescription medicine. Do not use if allergic to captopril, another ACE inhibitor, or any ingredient in the product. Do not use if you have a history of ACE-inhibitor-associated or unexplained angioedema. Captopril can cause serious fetal harm and must not be used during pregnancy; contact the physician immediately if pregnancy occurs. Use with caution in patients with kidney disease, liver problems, heart valve disorders, diabetes, dehydration, or autoimmune disease. Captopril may interact with diuretics, potassium supplements or potassium-containing products, lithium, NSAIDs, other antihypertensive medicines, aliskiren, and immunosuppressants. Seek urgent medical attention if swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat or difficulty breathing occurs. Dizziness, low blood pressure, and changes in kidney function or potassium may occur. Regular monitoring may be required. Store below 30°C and keep out of reach of children. |
