Capocard 25 mg Tablets contain captopril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor used to treat high blood pressure and chronic heart failure, improve outcomes after certain heart attacks, and treat diabetic kidney disease in selected patients. Each tablet contains 25 mg captopril.
Capocard 25 mg Tablets contain captopril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor used for the treatment of cardiovascular and selected kidney conditions. Each tablet contains 25 mg of captopril and is intended for oral use.
Captopril works by inhibiting the formation of angiotensin II, a substance that causes blood vessels to narrow. This helps relax and widen blood vessels, lowering blood pressure and reducing the workload on the heart.
Capocard is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension and chronic heart failure. It may also be used in clinically stable patients following myocardial infarction and for selected patients with type 1 diabetic nephropathy with significant protein in the urine.
The dose of captopril must be individualized according to the indication, blood pressure response, kidney function, and other medicines being used. Depending on the condition, doses may be given two or three times daily, with a maximum recommended daily dose of 150 mg.
Capocard is a prescription medicine and should be taken exactly as directed by the physician. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolytes such as potassium may be required during treatment.

| How To Use | Take Capocard exactly as prescribed by the physician and preferably at the same times each day. The dose and frequency depend on the medical condition and response to treatment. Swallow the tablet with water. Do not increase, reduce, or stop the medicine without consulting the physician. If a dose is missed, follow the instructions provided by the physician or pharmacist and do not take a double dose to compensate unless specifically instructed. |
| Warning | Prescription medicine. Do not use if allergic to captopril, another ACE inhibitor, or any ingredient in the product. Do not use if you have a history of ACE-inhibitor-related or unexplained angioedema. Captopril can cause serious fetal harm and must not be used during pregnancy; if pregnancy occurs, contact the physician immediately so treatment can be changed. Use with caution in patients with kidney disease, liver disease, heart valve problems, diabetes, dehydration, or autoimmune disorders. Concomitant use with aliskiren is contraindicated in certain patients with diabetes or impaired kidney function. Captopril may interact with diuretics, potassium supplements or potassium-containing products, lithium, NSAIDs, other blood-pressure medicines, immunosuppressants, and other medicines. Seek urgent medical attention for swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, breathing difficulty, or severe allergic symptoms. Dizziness and low blood pressure may occur, particularly when starting treatment. Regular monitoring of kidney function and potassium may be required. Store below 30°C, protected from light and moisture, and keep out of reach of children. |
