Betnovate-N Cream 30 g is a prescription topical medicine containing betamethasone valerate 0.1% w/w and neomycin sulfate 0.5% w/w. Betamethasone valerate is a topical corticosteroid that helps reduce inflammation, itching, and redness, while neomycin sulfate is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that helps control susceptible bacterial infection.
The cream is intended for inflammatory skin conditions in which bacterial infection is present or considered a concern. According to the supplied information, these may include eczema, nummular dermatitis, prurigo nodularis, lichen simplex chronicus, certain forms of psoriasis, lichen planus, contact dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, reactions to insect bites, prickly heat, and selected cases of otitis externa or intertrigo when medically appropriate.
A thin layer is usually applied once or twice daily for up to 7 days under medical supervision. Treatment should not be prolonged, particularly over large areas, because both the corticosteroid and neomycin may be absorbed and cause unwanted effects.
This medicine is for external use only and should be used strictly according to the prescribing physician's instructions.

Wash your hands after use unless the hands are the treated area. Do not use for more than 7 days unless advised by the doctor. Avoid applying under occlusive dressings, on the face, wounds, large areas, or skin folds unless specifically instructed by the physician. |

Large amounts of neomycin may increase the risk of kidney or ear toxicity. Stop use and seek medical advice if severe irritation, allergic reaction, worsening infection, vision problems, or lack of improvement after 7 days occurs.
